Brendan Arbuckle joined The Jackson Laboratory in May 2019. In his current role as Chief Information Officer, Brendan provides strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of IT across JAX with a focus on advancing scientific research through technology.
Before coming to JAX, Brendan held various leadership positions in technology and operations across multiple industries, including semiconductors, plastics, and fuel cells. He has engaged across multiple technologies and fields from nuclear reactor cooling to chemistry and materials. Throughout his career, Brendan has leveraged computer and technology applications to help solve research and business challenges. He is committed to building strong teams, implementing innovative technologies, and driving organizational improvements in complex, multi-disciplinary environments. At JAX, Brendan has led significant organizational changes while improving cybersecurity, operational services, and research IT support. His experience spans high-performance computing, cloud services, artificial intelligence/machine learning support, and lab informatics. Brendan holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University.
