Teaching the Genome Generation™ (TtGG) provides a modern way to teach genetics and genomics through the lens of personalized medicine. Traditionally an in-person program, TtGG students conduct classroom experiments, collect and analyze real data, and discuss the ethical complexities at the intersection of human genomics, research, and medicine. TtGG has partnered with LabXchange to create digital versions of our laboratory protocols, expanding our program accessibility for students and teachers across the globe. Our digital assets include lab simulations for DNA Extraction and Gel Electrophoresis and interactives on Genetic Variation, PCR, RFLP, and Sequencing. Designed for high school biology students, these digital assets provide learners an opportunity to experience our full laboratory curriculum in a virtual environment. Educators can combine our resources with thousands of free learning resources on the growing LabXchange library, and build customizable pathways aligned to specific learning goals for their students and classes. The Jackson Laboratory and LabXchange are committed to making the study of genetics and genomics accessible, approachable, and inclusive through online and hybrid learning experiences. Both organizations strive to empower future scientists to improve human health through genomics research and education.
