As a study director within the JAX Rare Disease Translational Center, Vincent completes research projects in direct partnership with families, foundations, academia, biotech and more. Driven by a passion for impactful science, he leads projects focused on rare diseases, including strain characterization and intervention studies—key early steps toward therapeutic development. Currently, he collaborates with dedicated foundations such as Sophie’s Neighborhood, Jack’s Tomorrow, and the Richter family to better understand and treat conditions like MCTO, PURA, and ZC4H2 syndromes.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology in France, Pons earned a master’s degree in clinical trial management, which focused more on bringing a molecule to market. Missing science, he pursued a Ph.D. in neuroscience in Canada. He spent three years researching the role of the immune system in the context of Alzheimer’s disease. After graduating, he joined JAX. He said he joined the RDTC because he was “"motivated by its mission and the positive impact we can make for patients and their families."
