Louisa Wang, Ph.D.

Scientific Investigator - Gene Editing Therapeutics

Lead the design, development, and delivery of gene editing/gene therapy medicines for the treatment of rare diseases.

Previously, Louisa spent nearly 5 years at Sarepta Therapeutics, ascending through the ranks of Scientist I, Scientist II, and Program Lead. She spearheaded enterprise-critical initiatives in developing gene editing therapeutics to treat neurodegenerative diseases, earning the prestigious Employee Spotlight Award (top 2% of R&D). Her role bridged R&D with scientific due diligence in business development and market access, ensuring strategic alignment throughout the drug development process.

Louisa has also led global CRO projects and technology development efforts, achieving a 15-fold improvement in efficacy and a 2- to 3-fold enhancement in gene editing performance, respectively. She also played a key role in internal education, organizing monthly learning events.

Louisa completed her Ph.D in gene editing and neurodegenerative diseases at the University of Toronto.
