Konstantinos Vanezis Headshot 2025

Konstantinos Vanezis, Ph.D.

Scientific Investigator - ASO development

Leads the design, development, and delivery of oligonucleotide therapeutics for rare genetic diseases.

Konstantinos received his B.Sc. in Biology specializing in Molecular Biology, Development and Genetics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. The last year of his studies, he was working as a visiting scientist at the Institute of Marine Science, Barcelona, Spain working on epigenetic regulation of sexual differentiation/determination of zebrafish. He then joined the lab of Alexander Meissner at Harvard Stem Cell Institute and the Broad Institute focusing on epigenetic regulation of pluripotency in human and mouse embryonic pluripotent stem cells. Konstantinos then moved to London, UK to pursue an M.Sc. in Molecular Medicine at Imperial College London focusing on the effect of nitric oxide (NO) in pluripotent stem cell differentiation during cardiac development. In 2012, he pursued his Ph.D. at the London Institute of Medical Sciences funded by the British Heart Foundation Research Excellence grant studying the role of nitric oxide in cardiac regeneration post-myocardial infarction. Upon completion of his Ph.D., he pursued a postdoctoral position at the National Heart and Lung Institute funded by the LeDucq Foundation investigating the role of interleukin 11 in fibrosis and identifying gene modifiers in dilated cardiomyopathy. In 2021, he joined MiNA Therapeutics developing oligonucleotide therapeutics for the activation of gene expression with particular focus in lysosomal storage and hematopoietic diseases.
